What is Gold Leaf

Gold leaf refers to gold that has been pounded into very thin sheets, usually no more than a few micrometers thick. Before the invention of electroplating, gold leaf was used in decorating jewelry and other objects. Some people even use gold leaf, which is biologically inert, to decorate food.
